
Jamsil Baseball Stadium is a baseball stadium in the Songpa District of Seoul, Korea. It is the home of the Doosan Bears and LG Twins. The stadium and the nearby Seoul Olympic Stadium are part of the Seoul Sports Complex.

History and Construction of Jamsil Baseball Stadium

Construction on the stadium began on April 17, 1980. After two years, the stadium opened on July 15, 1982, with a construction cost of 12.6 billion won. As mentioned, when it opened, Jamsil Baseball Stadium was the first baseball stadium in the country.
In 2007, the stadium underwent renovations at a cost of 1.5 billion won. Upgrades included improvements to the field, such as new grass, drainage systems, and sprinklers.
The stadium covers 26,331 square meters (283,425 square feet). The distance from home plate to the outfield fence ranges from 100 to 125 meters (328 to 410 feet), the longest of any baseball stadium in Korea. And it has an official capacity of 27,000.
Major Tournaments and Events

The stadium has hosted many important games and tournaments, such as the 1982 Amateur World Series, now known as the Baseball World Cup, the 1988 Summer Olympics, and the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
During the 1982 Amateur World Series, the Korean national team beat Japan and the United States to win the championship. South Korea finished fourth in the 1988 Summer Olympics, while the United States defeated Japan to win the gold medal.
Aside from sporting events, the stadium hosts concerts, including performances by K-pop groups and international music stars.

Today, the stadium is home to two professional teams, the LG Twins and the Doosan Bears, both part of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

Ticket prices vary from 4,000 to 70,000 won depending on team, day, age, and seat location.
Tickets can be purchased at the stadium on the day of the game, online through team websites, and at some convenience stores.
If you plan to purchase tickets on the day of the game, you may visit the ticket office near Jamsil Station (Line 2, Exit 5). One central ticket office and three smaller offices offer day-of and future game purchases.
The ticket office usually opens a few hours before the game. Most tickets are sold online in advance, so only outfield seats may be available for purchase. The earlier you arrive, the better your chances of getting a good seat.
